1.4                                       SUBMITTALS FOR REVIEW

Do not request submittals if drawings sufficiently describe the products of this section or if proprietary specifying techniques are used.  Include a requirement for shop drawings only when special project conditions exist or when reflected ceiling plans are not provided on the working drawings.

  2. Product Data:  Provide data on PVC panel construction and cleaning instructions.

Include the following paragraph for submission of physical samples for selection of finish, colour, surface texture, etc.

1.5                                       QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.6                                       PROJECT CONDITIONS

  1. Section 01 32 13:  Work scheduling.
  2. Sequence work to ensure ceilings are not installed:
    1. Until building is enclosed,
    2. Sufficient heat is provided,
    3. Dust generating activities have terminated, and
    4. Overhead work is completed, tested, and approved.

1.7                                       DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

  1. Section 01 66 00 for storage and handling of materials.
  2. Deliver materials in manufacturer’s original, unopened, undamaged containers with identification labels intact.
  3. Store cartons laid flat, protected from exposure to sun, high temperatures and humidity conditions as recommended by the manufacturer.

1.8                                       EXTRA MATERIALS

  2. Provide to the Owner a quantity of [5] [____] percent of all panels provided, in each color, for the Work.

2.1                                       Wall PANELS

In the following paragraph, list the manufacturers acceptable for this project.  Edit the subsequent descriptive specifications to identify project requirements and to eliminate any conflict with specified manufacturer’s products.

Select the following texture and color.  Alternatively, these sub-paragraphs may be deleted and the ACP color code and description specified (which identifies both the texture and color).  If a variety of finishes will be used on this project, use a schedule in Part 3 to identify them.

Specify one of the following adhesives, if surface mounted panels are used, or if panels must be adhered.  The following adhesives are recommended by ACP.

  1. Adhesive:  Manus 75-AM HV, Loctite Power Grab Ultimate (white),
  2. Joint Sealant: Siltex 40,
  3. Include the notched trowel below if panels will be glued with a troweled adhesive.
  4. Tools:  Site-cutting tools, [and notched trowel] for installing panels.

Part 3                             Execution

3.1                                       EXAMINATION

  1. Section 01 71 00:  Verification of existing conditions before starting work.
  2. Verify that layout of panels will not interfere with other work.

3.2                                       INSTALLATION

  1. Install assembly in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and as supplemented in this section.
  2. Cutting Panels:  Using a table saw or circular saw for cuts, and jig saw or hole saw for irregular cuts like around plumbing and fixtures.
  3. Surface Mounting:
    1. Prepare substrate surface by cleaning properly. (free of dust and organic material that may impede adhesion)
    2. Apply adhesive to substrate using a notched trowel or tube adhesive with proper coverage. 
    3. Install full panels, working across the room.
    4. Overlap tongue and groove tiles.
    5. Once completed, firmly press all wall panels to ensure proper adhesive bond.
  1. Perimeter Molding:
    • Caulk or finish edges with appropriate trim

PRODUCT PLACEMENT

  • PREPARATION WORK
    • Perform installation as late as possible in the building process after any dust-generating activities have been completed.
    • Install tiles in accordance with installation instructions.
  • INSTALLATION / ERECTION
    • Cutting Panels:  Using a table saw or circular saw for clean straight cuts and jig saw or hole saw for irregular cuts around plumbing or fixtures.
    • Surface Mounting:
      • Apply adhesive to substrate using a notched trowel.  If a tube adhesive is used, repeated pressing of tiles to substrate may be required.
      • Install full panels, working across the room.
      • Overlap tongue and grove tiles and build across the room
      • Once completed, firmly press all wall tiles to ensure proper adhesive bond.

  • MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURES
    • Clean with mild soap and water.
    • On a daily basis, moderate dust or vacuum clean with a soft, clean brush attachment. (if necessary)
    • On a weekly basis, provide manual wet cleaning. (if necessary)
